What is Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC)?
Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC) draws members from our school community to represent our school at district level climate assessment/problem-solving meetings. The primary purpose of the Intercultural Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC), originally formed in 1988 as the Intercultural Advisory Council, is to assist in the formation and review of policies that assure non-discriminatory practices in all operational areas of the Clovis Unified School District. Its further mission is to assist in improving the cultural environment of the District.

Staff and parent training promoting understanding of cultural differences.
SCHOOL CULTURE
The goal in this area is to improve the classroom and school-wide cultural experiences for all Sierra Vista students and families. This is done by evidence of classroom experiences, as well as the visible evidence in and around the school facility.
Positivity Project
OUR MISSION
To empower America’s youth to build positive relationships and become their best selves.
OUR VISION
To partner with schools across the country and equip educators with the training, strategy, and resources to teach their students positive psychology’s 24 character strengths.
Positive psychology's 24 character strengths is the concept that surrounds the Positivity Project. The Positivity Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to partnering with K-12 schools and helping students across the country build stronger relationships by learning their own character strengths and character strengths in others. The goal is to create citizens and leaders who will enhance our community and country.
Positivity Ambassador's Share Positivity Project Message
Our Sierra Vista Positivity Ambassadors shared our school's participation in supporting a culture of understanding. Positivity Project plays an important part in our school culture using daily lessons and weekly activities to focus on the 24 innate character traits. Our Public Relations Committee is responsible for community awareness and sharing out the vision of the Positivity Project.
Focus Group Achievement
Sierra Vista uses resources such as Intervention and Push In Teachers for ELA and Math to improve academic growth. Students are screened and provided with specific targeted instruction to subgroup students through Intervention Push In Teachers and groups with progress monitoring.
