Mr. Cymanski was born and raised in Fairfield, CA where he attended Armijo High School. During his senior year, he joined and performed with the Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps over a four summer span. While attending California State University, Fresno, Mr. Cymanski earned a B.A. in Music Education and a M.A. in Music Performance and graduated with honors. Musical groups he has performed with include the CSUF Jazz Band, British Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and Marching Band. During college, he was active with the national honorary band fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi.
In 1995 he became the Band Director at Selma High School where his band played for President Clinton and Senator Dole. In 1999 he started his job as Assistant Band Director at Clovis High School where he taught Concert Band, Jazz Band and Marching Band. Mr. Cymanski is currently teaching music at Red Bank, Sierra Vista, and Mickey Cox elementary schools in the Clovis Unified School District. His duties involve teaching orchestra and band to 5th and 6th grade students and general music to all elementary students. In 2009, he was nominated for the Crystal award by his peers in Clovis Unified for outstanding teaching. During the Winter of 2010, he proudly conducted the FMCMEA Elementary Honor Orchestra.
Mr. Cymanski is a member of FMCMEA, the International Trumpet Guild, and life member of the Eagle Scout Association. He currently is the Music Representative in the Clovis Unified Faculty Senate. Previous musical positions he has had include: music Resource Teacher for Clovis elementary instrumental music, California Band Directors Association Treasurer and California Music Educators Association Central Section Secretary.
In his spare time he teaches private trumpet lessons, performs in the Kingsburg Summer Band, Fresno Community Band, Los Hooligans Ska Band, and is a freelance trumpeter at various churches in the Fresno/Clovis area. He is married to his beautiful wife Stephanie and has two wonderful daughters, Brenna and Sydney.
