2023-24 Expanded Learning Program for Grades 1st - 6th

Welcome to a New School Year

Please note the following:
  1. The after-school Expanded Learning Program is FREE to all students. Program time is from 2:25-6:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, the program will run from 12:50-6:00 p.m.
  2. ENROLLMENT: Seats are limited to 20 students per grade level in grades 1-4. There will be limited to 20 seats for 5-6 grade since it will be a combined class for next year's After-School Program. Student attendance and behavior will impact their acceptance into the after school Expanded Learning Program. 
  3. ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance is required for participating students. The program is funded based on students' daily attendance. Students who have three unexcused absences or excessive absences will be dropped.
  4. BEHAVIOR EXPECTATION: Students are expected to follow the Viking student behavior policy as they would during regular school days. Excessive behavior incidents will affect students' enrollment in the program. 
  5. Applications: All appliance forms will be all online and will have an open time frame to apply for your students for next years program. The link will be available on our school website. Time frame will be announced during the mandatory meeting.
  6. EARLY RELEASE POLICY: If your child must be picked up before 6:00pm. Complete the FRESH ELP EARLY RELEASE FORM which will be available during the mandatory meeting and will be available in the front office after the meeting.
  7. LATE PICK UP: Late pick up will result in your child’s removal from the program.
  8. The program consists of four components (required by the grant): Academics, Enrichment, Physical Fitness, and a daily snack. In order for the children to receive the full benefits of the program consistent attendance (preferable until 5:30) is necessary.
  9. Please note these items when completing the REGISTRATION FORM: 
  • Students will only be released to individuals listed on the form. Anyone listed and picking up the student must have a picture ID with them and will be asked for it periodically.
  • Students in fourth grade and above will be dismissed to walk if requested. Students in first through third may only walk if they have an older sibling to walk with.
